harry and charlie

great time for children everywhere!

let's start off with charlie and the chocolate factory---
amazing. my favorite part of tim burton's movies (especially big fish and this one) is the coloring. things are vibrant. he really focuses on an image. thumbs up for epic metal oompa loopmas and squirrels. thumbs down to grandpa downer. even though the father storyline was not in the boo, after watching an interview with burton and depp it makes sense because if tha storyline wasnt in there, willy wonka would just be some creepy old guy. i appreciate depp's willy wonka, the voice is incredible and all the comments about the children. hilarious. "i don't like mumblers". the one thing i do enjoy about gene wilder's willy wonka is his singing, it was just nice. the oompa loompa songs however holy crap. and the dance moves. fun. i reccommend this movie to everyone.
now harry potter.
went to walmart , only a couple people there. then it looked about 40 people. my eyes were really wide when i was handed my book (to prevent mass chaos yeah of maybe 50 or so people they were handed out). the green and purple cover is sweet and i finished a couple chapters so far. let me just tell you this- things are getting scary in the wizarding AND muggle worlds. otherwise i havent gotten far enough to reveal any spoilers. i promise from now on any harry potter writing will be in lj cuts because people want to read the book.
and understandably so.
i still dont understand the crazy christian people and their anger against harry.
i am glad the world is reading, at least something. kids cant watch this on video (yet).
harry potter is epic. and the next book is the last one. it's going to be showdown. it probably wont be out for another couple years (ah the wait between goblet and order was awful because the release date was pushed back so many times!)


today is kevin's graduation party, along with hae's.
one month from today i will be moving into my dorm.
